Market-Based Emissions Calculator

How to Use This Tool

  1. Add Entities: Click "Add Legal Entity" to create input forms for each of your company's legal entities or subsidiaries.
  2. Enter Data: For each entity, input your Scope 1 (direct emissions) and Scope 3 (value chain emissions) in tonnes CO₂e.
  3. Configure Electricity: Enter your total electricity consumption (kWh) and specify how much is covered by renewable energy certificates. Select your country to auto-populate the grid emission factor.
  4. Optional Certificates: If you have specific emission factors for your renewable energy certificates, check the box and enter the certificate factor (usually near zero).
  5. Calculate: Click "Calculate Emissions" to see your total market-based emissions broken down by scope and entity.
  6. Reset: Use "Clear All" to reset the calculator and start over with new data.

Note: This calculator uses market-based emission factors for Scope 2 electricity calculations. Grid factors are automatically populated based on your selected country's residual mix data.
